SU assistant Allen Griffin 'didn't even try' to talk Darius Bazley out of G-League decision

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse assistant coach Allen Griffin heard about Darius Bazley's decision to go to the G-League like everyone else. On Twitter.

Bazley, a 6-foot-9 senior forward at Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, announced that he would skip college and go straight to the G-League last Thursday.

It was a stunning announcement in that Bazley is the first major college recruit to bypass college and become a free agent in the NBA's developmental league. Bazley is not eligible to enter the NBA Draft until next year.

Griffin talked to Bazley and his high school coach, Steve Wright, but the goal wasn't to talk Bazley out of the decision.
