President Obama recently announced that the former SU football & lacrosse player will be posthumously award the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry during World War I.
William Shemin attended Syracuse University between 1919 and 1924. In that time, he was a member of some very good Syracuse Orange football teams as well as the lacrosse team. Multiple members of his family have attend SU in the years since.
Oh, and he served so valiantly in World War I BEFORE he attended SU that President Obama recently announced that Shemin will be posthumously award the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry during World War I.
