Syracuse, N.Y. -- Six Syracuse football players were named to the annual Athlon Sports preseason All-ACC team.
Redshirt junior punter Sterling Hofrichter was listed with the first team while senior tight end Ravian Pierce (second), senior quarterback Eric Dungey (third), senior tackle Cody Conway (third), redshirt senior defensive tackle Chris Slayton (third) and junior kick returner Sean Riley (third) were also honored.
A special teams captain last fall, Hofrichter headed up the ACC's leading unit in net punting average (41.3) and was named a candidate for the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation's top punter.
