Quarterback Garrett Shrader ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more, including one in the final minute, to lead Syracuse (4-4, 1-3 ACC) to a 41-36 victory at Virginia Tech (3-4, 1-2) on Saturday.
Syracuse snapped a three-game losing streak in which all three defeats were by three points.
WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED
The contest was not settled until the final play of the game. Virginia Tech's last drive started at its own 13 and the Hokies had reached Syracuse territory when quarterback Braxton Burmiester threw deep to the end zone and Ja'Had Carter broke up the attempt.
