Syracuse, N.Y. — While the Syracuse football community waits to see if highly touted Class of 2016 running back Robert Washington will commit to the Orange on April 25, a group of supporters has been ramping up the "Restore 44" campaign.
Started by Jeff Kelly of OttosGrove.com, the movement asks for Syracuse University to unretire the legendary 44 jersey number that was worn by Ernie Davis, Jim Brown and Floyd Little, among others.
Syracuse.com collected emails that fans sent to members of the SU athletic department. A handful can be read in full at the bottom of this post.
