Shot Clock Could Be Coming To Women's Lacrosse

During its meeting this week in Indianapolis, the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Rules Committee did what many fans of the sport have been begging for by recommending adding a 90-second possession clock.

If the rule is approved by the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel, it won't be implemented until 2017 in Division I -- and not until 2018 for Divisions II and III.

This comes less than two weeks after Maryland ousted Syracuse in the NCAA tournament semifinal after holding the ball for the final seven minutes of the game.

"It's hard to get the ball back with the way the rules are written," SU head coach Gary Gait told syracuse.
