Syracuse, N.Y. -- The best thing about this fall season of Syracuse lacrosse is, well, that there's a fall season at all.
The Orange has a greater appreciation of this stretch of practices and scrimmages because much of last year's fall schedule was cancelled following an outbreak of mumps on campus.
"To get to know the freshmen and some of the returning players, see what they've done over the summer, it's always great to see that this time of year as opposed to skipping it,'' said SU coach John Desko.
But in the bigger picture, fall seasons come and go.
