David Pindell and the UConn offense began marching down the field quickly on the first drive, but then the quarterback fumbled, leading to an Eric Dungey rushing touchdown on the other end. The Orange forced a punt and Dungey once again punched it in for another score shortly thereafter. Dungey would tack on score No. 3 near the four-minute mark in the first quarter, connecting with tight end Gabe Horan for a seven-yard touchdown.
