Syracuse, N.Y. -- Sammy Rautins has a new basketball home for 2017-18 and with it, a new ability to show his basketball skills to college recruiters.
Rautins, a Class of 2018 guard, is the son of former Syracuse great Leo Rautins and the brother of former Syracuse guard/forward Andy Rautins. Once a Jamesville-DeWitt student, he has lived with his dad and his stepmom, Jamie, in Toronto and has attended his dad's alma mater, St. Michael's College School.
This year, Sammy Rautins will play at Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario. The team shares facilities with Athlete Institute, which has sent two players -- Oshae Brissett and Howard Washington -- to Syracuse this year.
