Syracuse, N.Y. -- The infamous silver troughs in the Carrier Dome men's restrooms, just like the famous air-supported roof, are on their way out.
Syracuse's $118 million planned improvement in the Carrier Dome that was announced on Monday includes plans to renovate the restrooms by the Fall of 2022. And in an effort to reflect the modern expectations of privacy while peeing, the troughs are heading to the scrap heap.
"As soon as we go in and start renovations on the bathrooms the troughs have to come out," Syracuse Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer Pete Sala said.
