The late recording artist Prince has long been associated with the color purple. He wore it quite a bit. There’s Purple Rain, of course. And his career integrated numerous other purple references as well. He was so synonymous with the color that it was worn by those grieving his death via accidental overdose in 2016.
And yet, it ends up that orange was actually his favorite color.
The surprising news came about from his sister Tyka Nelson, who shared as much with London’s Evening Standard. Said Nelson:
"It is strange because people always associate the color purple with Prince, but his favorite color was actually orange.
