Pitt Defeat Orange Despite Late Surge

Back-to-back reigning Atlantic Coast Rookie of the Week Judah Mintz led Syracuse (8-5, 1-1) by matching a personal-best 24-points despite an 84-82 loss to Pittsburgh (9-4, 2-0) inside the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday night.

Mintz was joined by Joseph Girard III (16 points) and a career-best 10-point showing by Quadir Copeland. Maliq Brown joined in on the action by grabbing a career-best 9 rebounds.

Blake Hinson led the Panthers with a double-double performance by leading all scorers with 25 points and 13 boards.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Girard nailed a clutch three-pointer with just under 30 seconds left to play in the contest, bringing the Orange the closest that they had been since the beginning of the night, 83-82.
