Syracuse, N.Y. -- Matthew Moyer was a late scratch from Syracuse's basketball game Sunday against Wake Forest.
SU coach Jim Boeheim said the freshman forward, who has been recovering from a badly sprained ankle on Jan. 24, told him before Sunday's game that his ankle was too sore to play.
"He said his ankle hurts. He looked fine in practice the last two days," Boeheim said after the Orange's 78-70 win. "He helped us against Louisville. He can't jump, really, off one leg. But I have bad ankles and you jump off two. His father came in and told him not to play.
