Philadelphia winning NBA Draft lottery creates crowded frontcourt for Jerami Grant

(Associated Press)

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse star Jerami Grant benefited from Philadelphia's tanking strategy for the first two years of his career, receiving early playing time and blossoming into a significant contributor during his second season in the NBA.

But while Grant's abilities are at an all-time high, he may enter next year in his biggest fight yet for playing time.

By landing the first pick in the NBA Draft, Philadelphia secured the opportunity to pick either Louisiana State's Ben Simmons (6-foot-10) or Duke's Brandon Ingram (6-foot-9). Both players are versatile forwards, just like Grant, with much more refined offensive games.
