Syracuse, N.Y. — It's a long ways from Georgia to Syracuse, although when freshman attack Nate Solomon made his debut for the Orange lacrosse team Saturday in the Carrier Dome he had many reasons to feel at home.
For instance, both his parents are natives of the area and he still has a lot of family in Central New York. And Solomon, who grew up in a suburb of Atlanta, was virtually funneled to SU by a pair of former Orange lacrosse greats.
But Solomon's most prominent tie to Syracuse is also his most distant: he was beginning his college lacrosse career on the same field where his uncle made a living for several years.
