SYRACUSE — No. 22 Syracuse opens the 2019 season on Saturday with a 6 p.m. road contest at Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. The season opener against the Flames will be carried live on ESPN+.
The Orange enter the year coming off a 10-3 2018 season that culminated with a 34-18 victory over No. 15 West Virginia in the Camping World Bowl. With 17 starters returning, 'Cuse opened preseason camp on Aug. 18, and the coaching staff worked frivolously to get the team ready for game one against Liberty.
"We just came off of a difficult camp, it really was," head coach Dino Babers said, addressing the media at his weekly Monday morning press conference.
