Syracuse quarterback Garrett Shrader and freshman running back Sean Tucker combined for 353 rushing yards and three touchdowns but it was not enough as No. 19 Wake Forest defeated Syracuse (3-3, 0-2 ACC) in overtime Saturday night at the Carrier Dome. The Demon Deacons improve to a perfect 6-0 and 4-0 in the ACC.
Wake Forest led 3-0 but Syracuse took its first lead of the game, 7-3 after Tucker's first rushing touchdown of the game. The Orange extended the lead with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Shrader to Anthony Queeley at 14:27 in the second quarter and Andre Szmyt converted the extra point for a 14-3 lead.
