Last time Syracuse and Clemson faced each other, Syracuse Orange quarterback Eric Dungey suffered a season-ending after being hit on the head by Tigers linebacker Dorian O’Daniel with just over three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Prior to the injury, Syracuse trailed just 10-0. They ended up losing 54-0 after Syracuse’ offense couldn’t find the end zone in Dungey’s absence.
For the second straight year, Dungey’s season was cut short due to injury. Through his first eight games of the 2016 season, Dungey’s phenomenal play put him in the early season Heisman Award conversations.
