Syracuse, N.Y. -- Ultimately, Syracuse women's basketball forward Miranda Drummond only has herself to blame.
She could have tip-toed her way into the start of her Orange career this season. But Drummond has only one gear on a basketball court, and that's aggression. She made a quick name for herself as one of SU's new threats, putting up a run of performances that caught everyone's attention.
Especially that of opposing defenses.
Drummond is now paying for her early success with a stifling case of claustrophobia from defenders that's cut into her production. And as SU heads down the home stretch of the ACC season -- Duke visits the Carrier Dome on Thursday -- the junior is locked in a chess game to make the counter-moves that will keep her contributing to the team.
