ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York State legislators adopted resolution honoring Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim on his 1,000th career win over Virginia on Saturday.
The joint resolution was adopted Tuesday, sponsored by State Sen. John DeFrancisco (R-Syracuse), the Senate's deputy majority leader.
The victory Saturday is technically Boeheim's 1,000th victory, but officially he's only won 899 after the NCAA's decision to vacate 101 of them.
The resolution honors Boeheim's history and commitment to Syracuse and its university. The full text is below. It does not mention the NCAA's decision.
