Syracuse, N.Y. -- Brendan Bomberry scored 1:52 into overtime to cap a furious comeback and lift Syracuse to a 13-12 win over North Carolina 13-12 on Saturday in the Carrier Dome.
No. 6 SU improved to 7-4 overall and 4-0 in the ACC. The Tar Heels fell to 6-7, 0-3.
Nate Solomon scored four times for the Orange, and Matt Lane, Brendan Curry and Bomberry each tallied twice. Alex Trippi, William Perry, Timmy Kelly and Matt Gavin posted two each for the Tar Heels.
The Orange controlled the opening faceoff in overtime and after a timeout Curry dished from behind the net to Bomberry out front.
