NFL Draft 2019: New York Giants select Syracuse’s Chris Slayton in 7th round

The 2019 NFL Draft saw Syracuse Orange players picked this year, with defensive tackle Chris Slayton among them. SU’s expert run-stopper was selected 245th overall in the 7th round by the New York Giants.

Slayton played in 49 games over the course of his four-year career with the Orange, collecting 107 tackles, 32.5 TFLs and 9.5 sacks. He was a force when it came to clogging the middle, and frequently drew doubles which freed up other linemen to rush the passer. His senior season earned him an invite to the East-West Shrine game, where he had a tackle and a QB hurry.
