Syracuse, N.Y. -- Ballet has given way to basketball, but Syracuse women's point guard Kiara Lewis can still dance as well as dribble on the court.
At the Orange's media day last week, Lewis, a redshirt sophomore, took advantage of a request to improvise a few steps with her teammates. It was a good showing, but Lewis had a built-in edge. Growing up in Chicago, she took ballet in the youthful years before basketball grabbed her attention full-time.
"I was asked if I had any hidden talents. And I said I used to ballet dance,'' Lewis explained.
