Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse women's basketball player Veronika Vorackova has been sidelined by the NCAA this season, Orange coach Quentin Hillsman said on Tuesday.
According to a statement from the school, she "is not eligible to play this season due to NCAA rules regarding participation with a club that considers itself to be professional." The school did not release any more specifics.
Hillsman said Vorackova, a freshman shooting guard from the Czech Republic, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Vorackova sat out both of SU's first two games. Hillsman said they had been waiting to get final word of her status from the NCAA.
