Syracuse, N.Y. -- In response to the FBI investigation alleging bribery and other improprieties in college basketball, the NCAA announced today it has formed a committee to study the sport.
"While I believe the vast majority of coaches follow the rules, the culture of silence in college basketball enables bad actors, and we need them out of the game. We must take decisive action. This is not a time for half-measures or incremental change," NCAA president Mark Emmert said in a statement.
The committee will be chaired by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and will investigate the influence of apparel companies, AAU programs and agents on the college game.
