The underdog Orange finally met their match.
No. 11 Syracuse, the last team in to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, came up short against rival No. 2 Duke, 69-65, on Friday, ending its surprising tourney run at the Sweet 16.
Meanwhile, another No. 11 seed, Loyola Chicago, eeked out its third narrow victory and second consecutive one-point win to continue its own improbable NCAA run and advance to the Elite Eight.
The Ramblers, who defeated No. 7 Nevada, 69-68, on Thursday, have outscored their three tournament opponents by a total of just four points.
