Syracuse, N.Y. -- After being medically disqualified from Syracuse football on July 19, defensive end Josh Allen has been granted permission to speak with most other programs, he announced on Wednesday.
SU athletic director John Wildhack is preventing Allen from interacting with other Atlantic Coast Conference programs.
Allen was hospitalized due to clotting around his heart after workouts on July 10 and had surgery that afternoon. He claims no one from Syracuse informed him of the disqualification made by head team physician Dr. James Tucker.
