Syracuse, N.Y. -- Le Moyne men's basketball coach Patrick Beilein waffled between optimism and embarrassment when discussing the Dolphins' first preseason game against Syracuse on Wednesday night.
Embarrassment because an 89-52 loss demands it from any competitor. Optimism because it wasn't an entirely unexpected result.
With 10 new players and only 15 full days practice to prepare for a Syracuse team expected to be one of the best in Division I, the outcome for the Dolphins was almost certain to be ugly.
"I was happy when the final horn went off, that's for sure," Beilein said.
