Atlanta -- Demetris Nichols greeted him outside the Boeheim's Army locker room Sunday, his presence permitting Nichols to break out in a big smile.
Nichols' team had just lost to Golden Eagles to eliminate any chance of continuing to compete for $2 million in The Basketball Tournament. But here, in front of Nichols, stood Josh Pace, his former Syracuse basketball teammate.
The two embraced. They shared a few moments.
Pace, the former Orange guard, was in Atlanta last week to recruit. He is an assistant basketball coach for the Pepperdine women's team. Atlanta teemed with girls in basketball gear all week.
