The arrival of a former Xavier player on The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) Syracuse Orange alumni team — Boeheim’s Army — caused a slight stir this week. Kevin Belbey’s move, necessary to finalize the roster at eight, broke up the its sanctimonious uniformity.
There is not a more convincing argument on the other side than the fact that Jordan Crawford instantly becomes the best player on Boeheim’s Army. He also, more importantly, has the potential to lead the team’s first berth in The Basketball Tournament championship.
Crawford played eight NBA seasons with the Hawks, Wizards, Warriors, Pelicans and the Boston Celtics — where he won a Eastern Conference Player of the Week in December of 2013.
