Linebacker Mikel Jones notched the most tackles by an Orange player since 2016 in a 16-tackle effort against No. 20 Pitt on Saturday, earning him ACC Linebacker of the Week for the second time this season.
The Miami native 16 tackles included six solo stops and two tackles for loss. He also had a quarterback hurry. The Orange's defensive captain finished the regular season with 110 tackles, which ranks second in the ACC. His 60 solo stops were also atop the league.
Jones and the Syracuse defense held the Panthers to their lowest total offense output of the season (333 yards) and second-lowest passing yards (209) of the season.
