Brooklyn, N.Y. -- Boeheim's Army unleashed its running game, got serious on defense and eliminated the pesky South Jamaica Kings from The Basketball Tournament Saturday night at LIU-Brooklyn.
A hefty and hearty group of Syracuse fans shouted through the second half rally.
John Gillon was the catalyst. The 6-foot guard made 6-of-7 3-point shots and got out in transition for Boeheim's Army. He finished with a game-high 32 points. He also scored five of the Army's seven points during the Elam Ending (more on that later).
Gillon had 32, Demetris Nichols scored 19, Eric Devendorf had 12 and Brandon Triche contributed 10 points for Boeheim's Army.
