Syracuse, N.Y. — Jim Boeheim, Syracuse University's head basketball coach, is serving as an aide to Mike Krzyzewski on the staff of the U.S. men's national team at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The Americans (2-0, after defeating Venezuela 113-69 on Monday night) play again Wednesday evening against Australia (2-0, following its 95-80 conquest of Serbia) beginning at 6 p.m.
This marks Boeheim's third consecutive Olympiad. He formerly worked the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Olympics in London, each of which resulted in a gold medal for the United States.
