Jim Boeheim's final Syracuse basketball game as a player was loss to Duke in 1966

Omaha, Neb. -- Jim Boeheim's playing career ended with a loss to Duke in the 1966 NCAA Tournament.

Syracuse was playing Duke in the East regional finals in Raleigh, N.C. The Blue Devils defeated Syracuse 91-81 in what was the last college game for Boeheim and that of Syracuse star Dave Bing.

On Friday night, Syracuse will face Duke in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 here in Omaha, Neb. It's just the second NCAA Tournament game between the two schools since that 1966 meeting.

"We played them in Raleigh and we had a lead,'' Boeheim said Thursday.
