Jim Boeheim: Syracuse needs to ‘push the ball’ more next season

Throughout the years, the Syracuse basketball program has never really been one known to have a consistently high-powered offense. Under head coach Jim Boeheim, the Orange’s yearly strategy has normally been built around their 2-3 defense and capitalizing on turnovers.

Last season’s defense was outstanding for Syracuse as they gave up the 10th-fewest points in the nation. It was a much different story for the Orange on offense though.

Syracuse averaged just 66.6 points per game last season, which ranked them 317th out of 351 qualifying schools. It was the lowest average ever for an Orange team coached by Boeheim.
