Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse's 1996 run to the national championship game was the story of a group of overachieving underdogs, one that brought so much joy to Central New York that they created their own catchphrase.
It was an ideal example of a team where players were happy to accommodate John Wallace's greatness and content to fit into the holes around him.
"I don't know how many times this happens, but that team maximized what they could do," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "They got everything done you could ask to get done.
