It wasn't the shot Army wanted or Syracuse lacrosse expected, but it won the game for the Black Knights

Syracuse, N.Y. -- To Syracuse lacrosse head coach John Desko the shot was "very surprising." Army head coach Joe Alberici described it as "organic."

Army midfielder David Symmes found himself running down the left alley with the ball in his stick and the stick in his left hand with just seconds left in a tie game at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.

Desko hadn't seen Symmes shoot with his left hand in all of his scouting or all game, but with the game on the line, Symmes did.

The ball carried past Syracuse goalie Evan Molloy and bulged the net with just 0.
