Syracuse, N.Y. — TeNesha Murphy stayed home for eight years after having her two children. She first arrived in Syracuse in 2005 after she married Rob Murphy, who had become an assistant basketball coach for Jim Boeheim.
TeNesha earned a broadcast journalism degree from Western Kentucky in 2000. She had envisioned a career in television, reporting or even anchoring the news. Financial reality and then motherhood derailed those ambitions. But as she sat on her sofa each day and digested the news programs dialed up on her TV, Murphy allowed herself to dream.
She studied the mannerisms of reporters, noted how they talked, how they reacted to the stories they told.
