Syracuse, N.Y. — For most big winners at Turning Stone Resort Casino, the takeaway is in large pots of chips, free accommodations or a memorable night out with friends.
For former Syracuse graduate assistant Siriki Diabate, however, his lucky evening in February helped land him his first professional coaching job.
Diabate, who returned to SU to help coach the linebackers after playing that position for the Orange from 2011-12, traveled to Turning Stone with other members of the Syracuse coaching staff for the annual New York State High School Football Coaches Association clinic.
After a speaking engagement, he got talking with Colgate head coach Dan Hunt.
