Syracuse, N.Y. - There is one main reason why Louis Orr, the former Syracuse University star whose No. 55 hangs in the rafters of the Carrier Dome, is now an assistant coach at Georgetown, the most hated rival for any Orange fan.
And that reason might be the rivalry's biggest, most recognizable lightning rod outside of former Georgetown coach John Thompson himself.
Patrick Ewing.
"It's about our relationship,'' Orr said in a recent telephone interview. "He's the foundational piece. He's why I'm here.''
On April 3, Georgetown officials introduced Ewing, the imposing center on Georgetown's dominant teams in the 1980s, as the school's new head coach.
