Syracuse, N.Y. - All he had missed was an intra-squad scrimmage and an exhibition game, but Geno Thorpe was still glad to finally step onto the Carrier Dome court on Monday night.
A sprained ankle prevented Thorpe from participating in Syracuse's Orange-White scrimmage on Oct. 20 and he was still a no-go when Syracuse hosted Division II Southern New Hampshire in an exhibition game last Wednesday.
"Finally,'' Thorpe said. "It was hard watching those first two games. I just wanted to get out there with my new teammates.''
The sitting caused more agony for Thorpe than the ankle itself because the clock is ticking on the last year of his college career after previous stops at Penn State and South Florida.
