Hakim Warrick is 36, 'genetically blessed,' and in no hurry to give up basketball

Syracuse, N.Y. - As he warmed up with his Boeheim's Army teammates last weekend in Atlanta, Hakim Warrick drew murmurs of interest along the sidelines of the Georgia State gym where The Basketball Tournament hosted its Super 16.

Observers guessed his age, trying to match the years he played at Syracuse and do the math. (He's 36.) And as they watched Warrick glide toward the basket, his impossibly long limbs still limber and still able to astonish with a sudden, devastating dunk, they nodded in appreciation.

"The guys on the team call him 'skinny,'" Boeheim's Army general manager Kevin Belbey said.
