Jerami Grant joined Carmelo Anthony as former Syracuse players who earned Olympic Gold Medals when Team USA defeated France, 87-82, in the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
Kevin Durant paced the Americans with 29 points, including two free throws in the final nine seconds that clinched the gold-medal triumph. It was Team USA's fourth straight gold medal. Durant tied Anthony for the most gold medals in Olympic men's basketball history with his third.
Grant was a key reserve for the squad coached by Gregg Popovich, the head coach of the San Antonio Spurs.
