Chicago — Mark Few was understandably wary.
HBO pitched a sort of reality show starring Few's Gonzaga Bulldogs. It promised to go "behind-the-scenes" to deliver an exclusive up-close-and-personal perspective on the small school from Spokane that had managed to make big noise in the NCAA Tournament.
Few, the Gonzaga head coach, described himself Thursday as a private man, someone predisposed to shun the glare of a constant camera spotlight. But his assistant coaches and the school's marketing people convinced Few of the overreaching publicity the series would generate for Gonzaga.
So Few said yes. And the series got made.
