Syracuse, N.Y. -- Gabby Cooper's mother had no way of knowing it at the time, of course, but she perfectly named the young girl who came into the world nearly 20 years ago.
The Syracuse University sophomore guard now laughs at the coincidence of it all. Gabby was who she was, and gabby is what she loves to be.
"Everybody's always said that I have the gift of gab. It's a miracle that my mom named me this,'' Cooper said. "My mom's a big talker. They say I get it from her. I always love talking. That's the one thing that I never really had a problem with, was talking.
