Syracuse, N.Y. - There was a moment in Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh that Frank Howard realized his recently reliable shooting stroke had abandoned him.
The Syracuse point guard, who came into the game shooting nearly 54 percent from the 3-point line in ACC play (second-best in the league to Louisville's Ryan McMahon), was 2-for-7 from deep distance in SU's 59-45 win over the Panthers. He converted just 5-of-14 shots overall.
He would finish the game with a team-best 18 points, a third of them coming at the free throw line and a nice chunk of them coming at the conclusion of the contest, when the Orange needed every point it could muster.
