Former Syracuse basketball star Trevor Cooney will back in orange next year.
Cooney has signed with the Spanish team Leyma Basquet Coruna, which plays in Spain's second division. The team's primary colors are orange and blue.
"I was in Spain for part of last year, so I have a little more of an idea what to expect," Cooney said on Wednesday. "I'm excited. I'm looking forward to it."
Cooney hopes that returning to Spain provides some comfort that he struggled to find last year. The former Syracuse guard experienced some of the challenges inherent in international basketball during an up-and-down first year as a pro.
