Former Syracuse running back Dontae Strickland signs with Arizona Cardinals

Former Syracuse running back Dontae Strickland signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday after participating in the team’s three-day rookie minicamp.

Strickland appeared in 47 games at Syracuse and finished 25th on SU’s all-time rushing list with 1,717 yards. He added 15 rushing touchdowns and also tallied 505 receiving yards and four touchdowns through the air. Strickland’s best game last year came against Boston College in the Orange’s final regular-season contest, when he rushed for a career-high 129 yards in a 42-21 win.

Strickland joins Cody Conway, Jamal Custis, Eric Dungey and Koda Martin as the fifth undrafted SU player to be signed.
