Former Syracuse guard John Gillon will play in the G-League next season, he told Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard via text message. Gillon said he has signed to play in the league, which begins play this year on Nov. 2.
Gillon said he expects to compete with the Erie Bayhawks, who currently retain his rights as a returning player. The league's rosters aren't formally set until Nov. 1.
This season will be Gillon's second in the G-League. He spent most of his first season fighting for playing time with both Texas and Erie but blossomed late with the Bayhawks after the team began to offer him significant minutes.
