Syracuse, N.Y. -- Less than three weeks after he signed to reunite with his college coaching staff, quarterback Ryan Nassib was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Nassib, one of the great signal-callers in Syracuse football history, appeared to have a chance at reviving his career under Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who held the same roles at SU during Nassib's record-setting career.
Instead, he returns to the pool of free agents.
Nassib spent his first four NFL seasons serving as a backup to New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
